I am off to England for Christmas…wish everyone have a great holiday!!

I received my first postcard when I was 10, all the way from France. It was from my parent when they had their anniversary trip to Europe. That was my first impression of France, the beautiful Eiffel tower and the beret hat- the must have accessories for every artist. These day when I think of France, the first think come to my mind is cheese, baguette and the famous stripe t-shirt that wore by sexy sailor..ha ha..thats what I gonna call my new top “Paris”.

Ok.. to be honest, I didn’t started this stripe top because of the sexy sailor. I found this lovely round button few month ago and I wanted to do a top that will really show off the button, I thought a stripy top with a side button will be perfect. Is a simple top down raglan top, but still I have make a mistake by knitting it open at the button side. At the end I have to seam it back and add on a button loop on each button placement so that the seaming line is less visible.

Beside the button opening, I have quite a hard time doing the stripe since I choose to knit the top in round. I follow Meg Swanson’s jogless stripe tutorial however, it didn’t turn out as good as I expected, the sts somehow still a bit jogged…lucky I done the joining at the side. I didn’t do any shaping on this top, in fact I knitted it slightly A line so that the stripe will not visually wrap around and magnified my waist line.
