Initially I wanted this top in lighter color like pink or yellow, but all the yarn I have in stash doesn’t work out the right gauge. I have tried 3 different yarn on it, finally I decided to use the fine merino dk from Colourmart. Since, this merino is thinner than Rowan Handknit DK, I have to goes up one size to get it right. If I have to do it again, I definitely will use the recommended yarn, this top will look much nicer with heavier weight.
The pattern is pretty straight forward except the part with decrease and increase on front neckline and side shaping together, I have to keep counting the row. At the end I make a very simple chart system which allow me to do it mindlessly.

Pattern : Dawn by Kim Hargreaves
Yarn :extra fine merino dk by Colourmart
Colour: Delta
Yardage : about 800 yards
Needle: 3.75mm and 4mm

That looks awesome, great job! I agree, this sweater looks even better in a smaller gauge. The dark blue is a good color for it, as well.

Hi, I’ve unravelled twice now back to the ribbing as it keeps going wrong! Am knitting the L front and I think it’s the increase decrease you mention that you did a chart for. I’d be really grateful if you would send me the chart as I’ve never charted my own before and I’m not sure how to do it. Yours looks lovely in the blue by the way, if mine ever works I’m using handknit cotton in Pesto.
